Disney says The Bluey Movie will arrive in theaters Aug. 6, 2027. The company used its D23 showcase to debut a teaser trailer and describe the film as a CG-animated feature based on the family series.
What Disney says about the film
According to Disney, the story follows Bluey and her family through an action-packed day after a surprise changes their plans. The studio says series creator Joe Brumm wrote and directed the film, with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios involved in production.
Disney also said returning voice talent includes Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack. The date is a theatrical-release target announced by the studio, not an indication that the film is complete.
A growing family-entertainment franchise
The announcement extends the series into feature filmmaking while keeping its family-focused setting. Disney’s showcase did not disclose ticket-sale timing or a full theatrical rollout plan.
