The United States entered the window second in Group E of Americas qualifying, according to USA Basketball. The qualifying format runs through March 2027 and will determine the teams that advance to the World Cup in Doha, Qatar.
The announcement also notes that the USA held a 5-1 record after the first three qualifying windows. The two August games are part of the next stage rather than a final tournament appearance.
