What the indictments allege
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland and the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office announced the charges August 14. Federal charges allege a conspiracy involving interstate transportation of stolen goods; separate state charges concern an alleged organized retail-theft scheme.
According to the federal indictment summarized by prosecutors, the alleged activity ran from October 2025 through April 2026. Authorities allege that products were taken from retail locations and later offered for sale through Instagram and other online platforms.
The geographic scope
Prosecutors say the alleged thefts involved a nationwide retailer with stores in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania, as well as other businesses. The government said the reported merchandise losses from the named retailer exceeded $48,000.

The Justice Department said HSI, Maryland State Police, Prince George’s County Police and other agencies assisted in the investigation. The agencies’ statements describe the allegations and investigative work; they do not establish criminal liability.
What comes next
Three defendants face federal charges, while other defendants are named in related state-court allegations, according to the announcement. Potential federal maximum penalties described by prosecutors do not predict any individual sentence.
The cases will proceed through federal and state courts. Each defendant is presumed innocent unless and until guilt is proven in the relevant proceeding.
